MediaRing.com's new Web service - MyTallky™ - sees explosive growth in user traffic
Singapore - January 21, 2000 - Main Board listed MediaRing.com Ltd's new Web service, "MyTalky", a personalised animated character which adds interactive fun to any Internet web site, has received explosive growth in user registrations.
MyTalky is a service that enables an owner of a web site to add interactive voice mail to his or her site. Once installed on the web site, MyTalky creates an icon where visitors to the site may leave VoizMail™ messages for the owner. It allows interaction between the web site owner and visitors without divulging personal details such as telephone numbers and email addresses.
During its trial period in the past 5 weeks, MyTalky has gained over 100,000 new registered users.
Said Mr Chua Kee Lock, President of MediaRing.com Ltd: "MyTalky is a revolutionary, interactive tool that allows visitors to a site to talk to the people behind the site, instead of leaving an e-mail. There are some elements of the spoken words that simply cannot be conveyed through e-mail. MyTalky will evolve to enable instantaneous communications between visitors and MyTalky users. For the last quarter of 1999, the number of MediaRing.com's users jumped 45% from approximately 1.6 million to 2.3 million users. MediaRing.com also saw tremendous growth in its other services. The number of calls made from ValueFone™ rose over 144% from 165,000 to 403,000 over the same period. Its corresponding call duration also leaped 191% from 581,000 minutes to 1,688,000 minutes. This includes MediaRing.com's "Free Calls to the US" campaign introduced on December 18th which has served over 4 million advertisements in its first 2 weeks.
The number of messages sent by VoizMail increased from 463,000 to 736,000 over the same period, with the message duration increasing by a significant 138% from 447,000 minutes to 1,068,000 minutes. The introduction of Web-based VoizMail, MyTalky, and VoizCard™ will provide more efficient and alternative avenues for the use of the VoizMail service.
